A little bit about me...

I grew up in Staten Island with one older brother and two great parents. I learned a lot about compassion and what it is like to help others from them. I went on to college at the University of Stony Brook in Long Island. From there I entered the Sisters of Charity Medical Center Physician Assistant Program and graduated in 2000. I then joined a growing Dermatology practice and have been practicing and treating skin conditions ever since.

I started as a Physician Assistant in July of 2000. After graduation I began my career in Dermatology and have not looked back. I love the practice of Dermatology for so many reasons. Dermatology gives me the opportunity to connect with my patients and help them visibly see their problems go away. It is rewarding because I can instantly make a difference and treat the ‘patient’ not just a disease or a test result. Making a difference is what matters most, no matter how small that difference may appear to be.

Today, when I am not treating my patients I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife and two wonderful daughters.

How I can Help you

What is a PA?  A Physician Assistant (PA) is a healthcare professional who is licensed by the state to practice medicine as part of a team with the  sponsorship of a physician. In Dermatology they perform total body exams for skin cancer surveillance and perform biopsies on suspicious lesions to check for skin cancer. They also can do many minor surgical procedures to remove skin cancers and non-cancerous growths when necessary. They evaluate, treat and manage many dermatologic conditions including acne, eczema, psoriasis, and warts, just to name a few.

I offer my patients a comprehensive skin exam and management plan for whatever issue they may need for their skin.

What's on my mind these days...

In this section I will discuss various skin conditions and different product recommendations. Make sure you check back often to  see what I am going to discuss next. And you can also follow me by clicking below

May is Melanoma awareness month. This is when we encourage our patients to get their skin check exams and be on the lookout for any concerning or different looking spots. Early detection is always a key component to survival when we discuss any cancer and this rings true for melanoma as well. I always talk about the use of sunscreen and being sun smart when it comes to sun exposure. We cannot take this for granted. Skin cancer prevention involves us "doing" something to remain safer and protected, which is sometimes harder than just "avoiding or quitting" something. For example: we can cut our risk of Lung Cancer by NOT smoking or quitting if you do, whereas for Skin Cancer we must go out of our way to take an extra step to be safe. For some individuals this is a step they do not take. I must stress that it is never too early to start taking this extra step and protecting our skin and going to your skin care provider for your annual skin exams. Early Detection!

April 14, 2025

Spring has sprung and the weather will soon be warm. Warmer weather brings more time outside and more exposure to the sun and its harmful UV rays. Please be sun smart and wear sunscreen of at least SPF 45 or higher and reapply every 2 hours. Continue to use a gentle skin care routine such as a gentle cleanser, oil free moisturizer and of course sunscreen!
